Ric Flair’s WWE Release Has Been In The Works For A While

Ric Flair is no longer with WWE, and the company made that announcement official today. Now there is some new information about the situation.

Flair was frustrated with WWE’s creative direction for himself and his daughter Charlotte Flair. This led to him asking for his release from the company, a request that was granted.

According to a report from TMZ, Flair’s WWE departure wasn’t a sudden thing. The outlet reports that the situation has been “in the works” and they both recently agreed to a mutual parting of ways.

We’re told the split has been in the works … and both sides ultimately came to an agreement recently.

This report does add an interesting aspect to this story. It was previously thought that Flair’s release request was granted during a communication with Vince McMahon. Apparently, it was a bit more drawn out than that.
