AEW brought Fyter Fest night 1 to fans this week, but Chris Jericho wasn’t live in the building. He appeared via a video package, but he wasn’t actually there. He had other obligations and this caused a rare absence.

Le Champion was not actually with AEW for Dynamite this week because he had to rock out with Fozzy. The band had a sold-out show in Iowa City. Jericho has arranged entire Fozzy tours around Wednesday nights in the past, and their next tour also skips Wednesdays, but this week was a rare exception as noted in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

Jericho was not at the Cedar Park show on 7/14. His segment with MJF and Spears was pre-taped because he was doing a rare Wednesday night concert with Fozzy in Iowa City. The event sold out. While they performed during the Sturgis Rally last year which was quite controversial, this was the first actual Fozzy concert on their own since the pandemic

Chris Jericho will not likely miss many AEW dates in the future, because he really cares about the success of the company and wants to be there as much as possible. This was an unavoidable situation and a rare one at that. Thankfully, AEW was able to make the show work without the God of War actually making it to the building.
