LAX is owned by Impact Wrestling which is the reason why Santana and Ortiz could not go by that name in AEW. The faction is back in MLW with new members, but they’re still using the name that is currently owned by Impact Wrestling.

Konnan, Danny Limelight and Slice Boogie debuted as the new LAX in MLW. That turned a lot of heads because intellectual property ownership of that stable name belongs to Impact Wrestling.

According to a report from Fightful Select, Konnan was able to take the name LAX to MLW after asking Impact Wrestling for permission. It was said that he contacted Impact Wrestling directly “out of respect for them” to inform them of this new incarnation of the group in Major League Wrestling.

Impact Wrestling reportedly “seemed okay with it” as the company and their office is said to be “easy to work with in that regard.” As of this writing, there has been no official comment from Impact Wrestling about LAX showing up in MLW.

Sources in Impact Wrestling reportedly said that they are working well with MLW at this point. There are also possibilities that the new LAX could have additional names added to the group.
