We are very sad to learn about the passing of Chris Romero, a member of the Youngblood Family of wrestlers where he wrestled with that last name. He was only 55 years old and as of this writing his cause of death is not public after it was confirmed by his brother Ricky Romero Jr. on Wednesday.

Chris Youngblood was born into the pro wrestling business in Amarillo, Texas, son of Ricky Romero. Two of Chris Romero’s siblings followed their father into the pro wrestling business along with him.

He was the younger brother of Jay Youngblood and Mark Youngblood. Chris formed a team with his brother Mark Youngblood and they made many different stops around the territories.

In 1987, they started wrestling for All Japan Pro Wrestling where they competed in the Real World Tag League. The two left that company, but later returned to work frequently from 1992 to 1996.

Our thoughts are with Chris Romero’s family and friends during this sad time. RIP.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
