AJ Styles Claims Samoa Joe Legitimately Choked Him Out With The Coquina Clutch

AJ Styles is undoubtedly one of the best in-ring pro performers to have ever graced a pro wrestling ring. He has competed all over the world in various promotions before making his way to WWE.

The Phenomenal One has squared off against the best of the best that the pro wrestling business has to offer and that includes his longstanding rivalry with Samoa Joe.

While speaking on Ryan Satin’s Out of Character podcast, AJ Styles claimed that Samoa Joe once legitimately choked him out while applying the Coquina Clutch.

“I don’t, I don’t, man, I don’t [know what conditioner I use]. Did he ever tell you when he finally got the Coquina Clutch on me and totally choked me out? I was out. I went to sleep in a match. Thank God it was the finish because I was asleep.”

AJ Styles was referring to Samoa Joe recently mentioning how he loved applying the Coquina Clutch on him as Joe enjoyed smelling his hair. We certainly wonder if AJ Styles and Samoa Joe will ever face off against each other one day.
