Marc Mero Blames Playboy Gig For Straining Marriage With Sable

Marc Mero and Sable were together when she was first introduced to WWE fans. That real life relationship did not last and she eventually left him. Now Sable is with Brock Lesnar in real life, but Mero doesn’t seem to blame Lesnar for what caused a rift in the couple’s marriage.

While speaking to the Our House podcast, Marc Mero pinpointed Sable’s Playboy shoot as something that really drove a wedge between the couple. He said that was one of the things that caused Sable to drift apart, because the next things he knew his wife was partying with Hugh Hefner instead of hanging at home.

“At the time it was a discussion that her and I had that we decided to do it. Just a horrible decision. You look back on decisions and think ‘what was I thinking’ you know but what’s done is done. We move on, we make mistakes in life and hopefully those mistakes become learning experiences. But it was not a good decision to make for our life, our marriage, our family, and everything else. Next thing you know, we’re at the Playboy parties all the time with Hugh Hefner. We even eventually got a apartment in Studio City in Hollywood and it was just not a good time.”

Sable left WWE and has not returned, even with her husband by her side. We’ll have to see if she ever received an induction into the WWE Hall of Fame, but she certainly racked up a lot of memories during her run that some fans will never forget, especially those who were young and impressionable during those Playboy days.
