Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn went to war this week on Friday Night SmackDown. This match resulted in Owens pulling down a spot in the men’s Money in the Bank match at the upcoming pay-per-view. After his big win, Owens had another message to send.

While on Talking Smack, Kevin Owens took a moment to personally call Paul Heyman on his phone. He had the Special Counsel to the Tribal Chief’s personal phone number, after all. Pat McAfee was co-hosting the show with Kayla Braxton this week, so Heyman couldn’t hear this message face-to-face.

Owens reminded Heyman that he told him months ago that the Money in the Bank ladder match is coming up, and he will win it. This was followed by a threat toward Roman Reigns’ time as Universal Champion, an ominous warning that he is coming for that title.

The Prizefighter desperately wants the Universal Title once again so he can have another run with the belt. He has spoken in the past about how he didn’t take the time to enjoy his last run as champion. Things could turn around for KO in 2021.

Heyman’s only reply to Owens was, “Sir, I’m sorry, you must have the wrong number.” Then he ended the call on Owens.

This is a very interesting idea, but there are also other men in the Money in the Bank ladder match who are very motivated to pull down that briefcase. It certainly seems like Kevin Owens is a frontrunner.

What’s your take on WWE’s men’s Money in the Bank booking this year? Who’s winning the briefcase? Sound off in the comments!
