Roman Reigns is the current WWE Universal Champion and is one of the top Superstars in the company right now. He has proven himself to be an excellent champion with great character work and in-ring skills.

Roman Reigns’ reinvention as a heel has truly shown just how good he can be both as an in-ring performer and character. It came after several years of being forced onto fans as a babyface.

While speaking on his Hall Of Fame podcast, WWE Hall Of Famer Booker T discussed WWE’s constant need to call upon older WWE Superstars to return and face off against Roman Reigns. Booker T added that old school isn’t dead just yet as they keep on attracting fans.

Edge is trying to finish this thing more than anything. I can feel where he’s coming from, was it one of those eyebrow raisers? I think so. I think the people was like ‘aww yeah, we’ve got something here.’ One thing about the old school man is it ain’t dead yet. That’s why a lot of times we keep having to go back to it in certain ways.

That’s why there’s still a lot of chatter about ‘Is John Cena coming back? Is John Cena going to have one last match?’ All the talk about ‘John Cena sucks,’ and people still want to see him. The Rock, right now if The Rock were to come back and have a match against Roman Reigns at WrestleMania, don’t think it’s not going to be sold out with people hanging from the rafters. That’s the thing man, that’s the thing right there, the old school, it ain’t dead.

Roman Reigns is set to defend his WWE Universal Championship against Edge at the WWE Money In The Bank pay-per-view on July 18. After that, it is likely he will be facing John Cena so a this point in time it is unlikely WWE will stop bringing back older WWE Superstars as Reigns’ opponent anytime soon.
