WWE has a lot of people working for the company, but there are soon to be even less. The company fired a lot of employees over the past few months, 60 staffers were axed at the same time as they merged multiple departments into one division headed by Kevin Dunn. They fired even more employees from WWE HQ today.

The company has also fired multiple Superstars, cutting down the cost of their bottom line in a big way. Superstars like Braun Strowman and Lana had multi million-dollar contracts and now that money can go back to making the company look better in the eyes of investors.

According to Mat Men Pro Wrestling’s Andrew Zarian, there is a belief within the company that more firings are needed. It was also expected that more terminations would proceed this new era in the company.

WWE talent and staff shakeups are something I was told would be more common heading into this new era for the company.

When I pressed this person as to why their response was “To be honest it’s needed…”

We’ll have to see who got released today as more names come out. Some top executives have been fired in recent memory and now it looks like more could be coming.

Letting go of so many people is a strange idea, especially with their return to live touring and a sense of “normalcy” again. The company will apparently be doing it with even fewer people on the payroll.

What’s your take on where WWE is headed in this “new era?” Sound off in the comments!

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
