John Morrison is a veteran in pro wrestling and he is very comfortable in the spotlight. This can help him establish a real ease when delivering his lines on television. How much of those lines are actually his?

TV Insider recently spoke to Morrison where he went into his promos on WWE television. It’s a bit of a mix, but it’s definitely “collaborative.” They have writers and producers to help out along with Vince McMahon himself. There is a process to things, but Morrison is obviously comfortable with how things are working out.

“Sometimes it’s improv, but I would call it more collaborative. We’re not going to talk or say anything without producers, agents, writers, Vince [McMahon]. As soon as we get anything, we read it and talk to each other. We may say, ‘These lines are crap. Let’s fix it the best way we can and then go talk to them about our fixes.’ It’s not good to be thrown into an office and just say something is garbage. You may say, ‘You know what? I like better’ is this other option.”

“We constantly do that. A writer or Vince may agree and say, ‘This is better. But you know what would be even better? This.’ It then evolves…Also, something that is lost on so many people is it takes a lot of courage to be vulnerable and be affected by something. Just being cognizant about that, which I wasn’t during the first run. Doing improv and saying things. We are having fun, but we also work really hard on the promos. Everything you see on TV — it’s a process.”

John Morrison is the only one wrestling right now between himself and The Miz. We’ll have to see how long the A-Lister is out of action with his knee issue, but Morrison is holding things down in the ring. They can both still talk a lot on the microphone which always makes for a great time. Returning to live fans will likely really help Johnny Drip Drip and The Miz out as they will have another element to play off of .
