WWE once had all four members of MMA’s 4 Horsewomen under the same roof. Ronda Rousey, Shayna Baszler, Jessamyn Duke, and Marina Shafir never had a chance to take part in an onscreen angle, and now Shafir has been released.

According to PW Insider, Marina Shafir’s name joins today’s list of WWE releases. There could be more on the way as well.

Shafir hasn’t wrestled much in recent memory, but she has been active on social media. This is interesting timing because it was reported that there were plans pitched for Shafir just prior to her release.

WWE had been planning to change her official ring name and there had been some pitches for the new name over the last few weeks, so there had been plans in the works for her, so this one has to be seen as surprising.

Tyler Breeze, Fandango, Ever Rise, The Singh Brothers, Curt Stallion, Arturo Ruas, Ariya Daivari, Tony Nese, August Grey, and writer Kenice Mobley were all cut from the company today.

These releases came after WWE President Nick Khan called for more cuts during a meeting eariler this afternoon. Keep checking back with Ringside News in case more cuts come down, which is likely, because more names are reportedly on the chopping block that have not publicly come out yet.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
