WWE has seen a few lawsuits filed against them in recent memory. Just last week another lawsuit was filed concerning the company’s dealings with Saudi Arabia. This time the lawsuit is over something totally different.

According to a report from PW Insider, WWE has a new lawsuit to deal with stemming from a 2019 car accident. This lawsuit was filed in the Circuit Court for the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit in and for Hillsborough Circuit, Florida on June 12th by Jackson Parsons.

The lawsuit alleges that Parsons was severely injured during a traffic accident that involved a vehicle owned by WWE.

Parsons alleges that on 7/22/19 in Tampa, a van rented by WWE that was being driven by a WWE employee, Gaitan Thomas, “who was on the job at the time” was involved in a motor vehicle accident with Parsons, who was riding a bicycle.

Thomas is a props expert for WWE. Parson claims that he “suffered physical injuries, pain-and-suffering, disability and the inability and loss of the capacity to lead and enjoy normal life, inconvenience, disfigurement, scarring and mental anguish.”

His claim also alleges that he is dealing with permanent issues as a result of the accident. He cited, “a loss of earnings and earning capacity, both in the past and in the future.”

The lawsuit alleges that Parsons lost quality of life and is seeking medical expenses caused by the accident. In total, he is seeking $314,850.00 for medical expenses and lost work. The lawsuit is also looking for $76,500.00 for Parsons’ Pain and suffering, mental anguish and inconvenience along with $401,500 for future pain and suffering.

Parsons demanded a settlement in December 2020 of $1,064,328.38. As of this writing, WWE has not publicly responded to the lawsuit.

The court filing notes that in December 2020, Parsons demanded a settlement demand, in writing, for the amount $1,064,328.38 and that they are well above the threshold of $75,000 required by the court for this type of civil action.
