WWE could bring Brock Lesnar back much sooner than expected. He reappeared on the official WWE website on the active roster page, and that might be for a reason. The company would have him return “imminently” if they had their way. The timing of tonight’s Hell in a Cell event has not been lost on anybody.

As we previously reported, there are ongoing talks to bring back Lesnar. Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men Pro Wrestling podcast also pointed out that WWE wanted Lesnar for SummerSlam in their original plans, but they “pivoted” to John Cena as the big name draw for the event.

WWE originally wanted a deal set for Brock for SummerSlam and ended up pivoting to Cena for the main event.

It was previously reported that WWE is considering SummerSlam as an “all hands on deck,” kind of situation. The company reportedly wants to make SummerSlam this year’s WrestleMania. That might include bringing back Brock Lesnar. We will have to see what’s in the cards, but it wouldn’t be a huge surprise to hear Lesnar’s music ring out sooner than later.

Brock Lesnar’s contract ran out at WrestleMania 36, but it took several months before fans were smartened up when his merchandise disappeared from the official WWE shop. It seems that the writing could be on the wall for Lesnar’s return.
