CM Punk has learned a lot of valuable lessons in his life, and he also experienced a lot of things that helped him out later in life. WWE provided him with an exceptional space to grow, and he also took away some major things from the situation.

While speaking to the Wrestling Perspective podcast, CM Punk went into what he took away from WWE. It is really quite simple. They paid him a lot of money, and he met his wife. Those two things really helped him move on to the next phase in his life, but wouldn’t have been possible without WWE in the first place.

“[The business] paid me a lot of money and I met my wife because of my job,” Punk said. “Those are the two big takeaways, they did try to take a lot of my money but they were very unsuccessful in that. I think I’ve always been a big believer, and Dave Batista is the same way, calls himself the dream chaser. I just figured it out at an early age, probably because my parents forced me to go to church and stuff and immediately started to realize a lot of stuff was just bullsh*t and life is short.

“You need to figure out what you love and just try to do that for a living. I was floored when somebody paid me, the first time I ever made money wrestling, I was like well f*ck, I don’t have to have a real job ever again. I was all in. It let me follow my dreams. I’ve been everywhere twice because of wrestling. I met my wife, all the fans bought my house, so I appreciate that.”

We’ll have to see if CM Punk ever dusts off his pro wrestling boots and gets back in the ring. That hasn’t happened yet, but it’s not for a lack of fans trying to get the Second City Savior back in the squared circle.

CM Punk did get very lucky in WWE. They paid him well and he met AJ Lee. In the end, what more could he ask for?
