Aleister Black’s name was among the recent releases that included Braun Strowman, Lana, and others. Black’s name was certainly a surprise for many fans as he had just made a return to WWE television and started a feud with Big E.

After Black was released, WWE had nothing for Big E. That is why the New Day member remained off television. Now the company is forced to reset that situation as Black was released just as they started that new program.

According to a report from PW Insider, some in WWE believe that Aleister Black was released prematurely. His push was still underway and gaining momentum. Those story time segments also took some energy to produce, leaving many in shock over this one.

There’s been some talk that Aleister Black was cut prematurely and a push that the company should bring him back in. Whether anything comes of this or not remains to be seen, but as the shock of the releases last week wears off, there’s been a feeling that of everyone Black was “cut too soon” and was more the victim of broken promises and start/stop creative more than of anything that he did of his own accord.

Aleister Black has already spoken in detail about some of his experiences in WWE. He even revealed that Vince McMahon apologized to him over his push not going as planned. There were intentions to hit the ground running and go full steam ahead with his push upon making a return. Then Aleister Black was fired two weeks after returning to television.

It’s unclear how much Black was making in WWE, but the company was certainly able to free up that space for their bottom line. The reason given for the releases was budget cuts, after all.
