WWE announced a 25-city return tour as they get back on the road. Apart from RAW and SmackDown television tapings, they also have plenty of Supershow branded house shows. There is a reason for that.

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer was aske about the return of Supershows during a mailbag question. He explained that the reason for those shows is to get as many Superstars on the same card as they can. The company will only be running one house show on those nights so it makes sense that they bring everyone in that they can.

“Because there’s not that many of them and it serves no purpose to limit them to a single brand when you have stars from both brands that are available. When you’re running two shows a night then, of course, you want to split them in some form, but when there’s only one show you might as well put on stars from both brands. It makes sense. It will sell more tickets with more stars, not a lot, but it will sell more.”

WWE ran split-branded house shows when they had the RAW crew in one location an SmackDown in another. Not those Superstars will all join forces for Supershows throughout WWE’s return to the road. Hopefully, that extra star appeal will cause even more fans to purchase tickets.
