AEW is moving to TBS in 2022 and that will see both Dynamite and Ramage changing stations. They will still be under the same WarnerMedia umbrella, but TBS has a lot less going on in terms of sporting events. That will make things much easier for All Elite Wrestling.

The NBA Playoffs on TNT is preempting Dynamite next week. The show will air on Friday at 10:00 PM EST instead. That won’t happen on TBS.

It was noted in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the current belief is that TBS will not require AEW to move around their lineup as often. TNT will host the NBA and NHL games, so they have those sporting events that will cause issues for Tony Khan’s company.

The other positive is with the new deal there will be significantly less preemptions for both shows, which were going to happen with the NBA and NHL on TNT, particularly during the playoffs. AEW, starting next week, will be bouncing around until TNT’s schedule with NBA playoffs are over. The belief is that there will be way fewer if any preemptions on TBS.

We will have to see how many viewers follow AEW to TBS. Any channel move comes with some growing pains, even if it is a lateral move such as this one.

The NHL’s new deal with WarnerMedia is a big deal and their Wednesday night double header games would not allow AEW to carry on with their current timeslot anyway. Thankfully, WarnerMedia had another home to offer AEW.
