WWE brought a Throwback edition of SmackDown to Fox this week, but some fans were a bit miffed about the fact that WWE didn’t go all out. They used CGI to put the classic SmackDown fist in the show, but they didn’t use the real thing.

Fans were upset that WWE didn’t bring the actual fist to SmackDown this week. They still have it in their warehouse, after all. It was obviously too much trouble, but they did go through the effort of creating a computer generated version of it.

One fan said of the show, “I love people are so pissed that WWE got a fake fist like they’re weren’t going to remodel the whole ThunderDome lol I’m just happy we got anything tbh.” Some fans were understanding, but others wanted WWE to go further.

Another fan commented to say, “Same with the vintage logo. The fist is the only thing that feels like vintage SmackDown – which if they really wanted to throw it back they would have that stage with the goofy ovals.” That would have been nice, but they also left the “goofy oval” stage at the warehouse.

Some fans really enjoyed seeing the fist, even if it was CGI. It also lets us know that WWE can bring the fist back whenever they like and save the gas money hauling that huge thing to Tampa. It’s impossible to make everyone happy though.
