WWE Told Chelsea Green They Would Only Hire Her If The IIconics Didn’t Pass Their Medicals

Chelsea Green was one of several Superstars released by WWE earlier in the month as part of the COVID-19 budget cuts. Many fans felt that her WWE career ended before it even started properly.

While speaking on the 50 Shades of Green podcast, Chelsea Green claimed that she was told by WWE that Green would only be hired by WWE if Peyton Royce and Billie Kay didn’t pass their WWE medicals.

Green added that as she looked far too similar to The IIconics, the company would only sign her if they failed their medicals.

“These girls have been my ride-or-dies, especially throughout my time in WWE. Funny story, actually, I was told that I would only get a job at NXT if Cass and Jess, aka The IIconics, didn’t pass their medicals because the three of us look so similar. Which, I actually love now. I think it’s such a compliment. Jokes on them, because they still hired me, right?

It seems there was no need for that as Green was hired by WWE back in 2018 anyway, despite The IIconics passing their medicals.

We will have to see which pro wrestling promotion Chelsea Green will go to next as she had previously hinted at joining her fiancé Matt Cardona at Impact Wrestling.
