Daniel Bryan’s WWE contract expired and now he is free agent. WWE is making big plays to sign Bryan Danielson to a new contract, but that is still up in the air. There are many places for Bryan to wrestle from AEW to indie feds running out of high school gyms. Money doesn’t seem to be a huge issue for him either.

Edge’s return to WWE was an impressive feat. The company offered Adam Copeland a ton of money to work an incredibly limited schedule. This also took place during a time when WWE really wanted to keep stars away from AEW. They might be in that mindset once again with Bryan Danielson.

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that WWE could offer Daniel Bryan a ton of money to stay. Edge got a ridiculous deal, and it was because they didn’t want him talking to AEW.

“Edge got, what, [Bryan Alvarez interjected: “One day every three months at this point] — I know, and Edge got a ton of money, too for that because they didn’t want him going to AEW is where he got it.”

It was noted that the same logic might apply to Daniel Bryan’s situation. They very well could offer him whatever part time deal he wants in order to keep him from going to AEW. Edge very well might have been a blueprint for him. Let’s see what happens in the next few weeks as this story continues to develop.
