AEW brought a special episode of Dynamite this week. Blood & Guts was the company’s first chance to show fans what they had in mind for a WarGames match. They didn’t disappoint, and those matches before the main event also delivered in a big way.
There was blood prior to the actual Blood & Guts match. Cody Rhodes was noticeably busted open in a big way during that post-match attack. Those matches were filmed weeks prior to Blood & Guts as well.
It was noted by Fightful Select that both instances of blood in hour one were hardway. They didn’t cut themselves to get blood in their match. It simply happened because of the match they were doing.
It is actually unknown how Cody Rhodes split himself open since it appeared to have happened after the match. He might have taken a stray elbow during the post-match attack. He certainly bled a lot prior to the Blood & Guts match. That was not part of the plan.
