Thunder Rosa and Britt Baker battled in a brutal unsanctioned match during Dynamite a few weeks ago. That match made headlines and also proved that women can be just as hardcore as the men. Baker credits one man above anyone else for making that match happen.

Jerry Lynn was a guest on AEW Unrestricted recently when Tony Schiavone revealed something very interesting. Right before the interview, Schiavone got a call from Britt Baker who made sure to tell Tony who gets credit for that lights out match.

“I got a phone call from Dr. Britt Baker DMD. She said, ‘What are you doing?’ I said, ‘I’m getting ready to do a podcast,’ and she said, ‘I know, and it’s with Jerry Lynn. And I want you to make sure that the world knows that he is the reason behind the hardcore match, and he is the G-O-A-T of AEW. I couldn’t be where I am without him.’ So Jerry, what a way to start our podcast.”

Jerry Lynn replied to say that Baker’s remarks were “sweet,” but he is still learning the ins and outs of producing himself. It is a process, but he was very happy to have been a part of it.

“Well, that was sweet, but they went out there and did it. They busted their butts. And I’m still learning. I’m still learning from all the other coaches. You never stop learning, and I’ve still got a long ways to go. That was the sucky part about having to retire from wrestling because I didn’t have a choice in the matter. My body said it was done, and there was so many things I want to improve on. So in that aspect, I wish I could still get in the ring.”

Jerry Lynn was able to take his knowledge of extreme wrestling and bring so much of that to AEW. At the same time, All Elite Wrestling also has a locker room full of minds who can contribute in their own way. It is a collaborative effort, and that seems to be a winning recipe so far in AEW.
