Daniel Bryan has a big match set up for SmackDown next week. If he loses, then he will have to leave the blue brand. That match against Roman Reigns will also be for the Universal Title.

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed the possibilities for this match. There are a few directions that WWE could go, and it doesn’t have to be cut and dry.

“So I guess the deal, in theory, what it looks like is that Bryan will lose and that is what helps set up Reigns vs Cesaro, but perhaps Cesaro comes down and he gets Reigns mad enough and that what get him to face Cesaro. Obviously, they’re going with Reigns vs Cesaro at some point. It could be that Bryan wins, Bryan loses to Cesaro and it leads to Reigns and Cesaro. I don’t expect Bryan to win, but they could do it.”

It was also noted that Daniel Bryan could win the match via count out. That might open the door for no title change and Bryan can stay on the blue brand. We’ll have to see what WWE has planned, but next week’s Friday Night SmackDown should get interesting.
