WWE made some cuts around the company in recent memory, and Joe Villa will be missed by many.

Joe Villa was fired from his position as Manager of Publicity and Corporate Communications. He had that job for over 8 years and was with WWE for 16 years and 1 month in total.

Following the news of his firing, Villa tweeted out to thank everyone for their support.

I am so humbled and overwhelmed by the amount of support from Superstars, colleagues, press and friends. Instead of everyone thanking me I want to thank you all. I truly hope I have to honor and privilege of working with you all again. Thank you from the bottom of heart.

Charlotte Flair posted a reply to Joe Villa as she praised him as an unsung hero in WWE. She also thanked him for grooming her in preparation for media engagements.

Unsung hero. Thank you joe for working with me all these years and showing me the ropes/grooming me with media……

WWE is shaking things up in many ways. Vince McMahon wants new blood in management, and Nick Khan is helping form corporate structure that will help propel WWE into a bigger entertainment property. Sadly, Joe Villa wasn’t a part of that plan for some reason.
