WWE released quite a few Superstars recently and that included Samoa Joe, which certainly took both fans and pro wrestlers by surprise as Joe was a tremendous talent, both inside and outside the squared circle.

CM Punk had recently revealed that he doesn’t rule out match against Samoa Joe in the future, which created a lot of discussion among fans. While speaking on his Hall of Fame show, WWE Hall Of Famer Booker T and co-host Brad Gilmore talked about the possibility of seeing Punk and Joe square off in a match.

Gilmore mentioned the idea of the match being streamed on a platform like Triller, similar to Jake Paul and Ben Askren. Booker T wasn’t a fan of the idea as Punk and Joe would have to do a blood match similar to Britt Baker and Thunder Rosa to get people’s interest.

Booker T added that this would potentially ruin CM Punk and Samoa Joe’s careers and would be a debacle.

“I’m not saying there’s money in it, but is money worth ruining your career over? We haven’t seen CM Punk in, what, 7 years, inside the ring? You put him inside the ring in a pay-per-view crowd? (Gilmore states that CM Punk could do a match with Samoa Joe as they have wrestled a thousand times against each other) If somebody is going to pay pay-per-view money, it’s going to be like the blood match they had on Dynamite with Britt Baker and Thunder Rosa. It’s going to have to be something like that. It’s going to have to go there and bring a whole lot of noise – and I don’t see that happening.”

CM Punk and Samoa Joe are certainly no strangers to each other as they had one of the best rivalries in pro wrestling history during their trilogy of matches in ROH. We will have to see if Punk and Joe ever wrestle in the future.
