Jim Ross has seen a lot of people come and go in the world of pro wrestling. He also knows that anything is possible, even a return that some thought would never happen. He is hoping that happens for CM Punk.

During Grilling JR, Jim Ross brought up CM Punk and how much he wishes that he was still in the pro wrestling game. There is still hope that he might be again someday.

“I thought they had a real good match. I’m a big fan of both guys, Randy and Phil Brooks. I always wished Phil Brooks was back in the business, at least on a part-time basis, because I think he has a lot to offer. Not just as a bell-to-bell performer, but someone that has earned the respect of his peers and that he could help those guys. Those younger guys that were marks for CM Punk’s work, his attitude, being defiant and somewhat controversial…I don’t know how those two guys could have a bad match. I wish Punk was still in the game. Maybe he will be someday.”

Jim Ross likely doesn’t know if there are any talks between AEW and CM Punk. There was apparently interest when the company was first opening up, but the Second City Savior decided to pass on the idea. You never know if the idea might be a bit more attractive now that AEW has been able to prove themselves.
