Paul Wight appeared in the Adam Sandler film the Waterboy and played a role that might come back so many years later. This would certainly be a blast of nostalgia and Captain Insano’s return could really happen.

While speaking with Miro on his YouTube channel, Paul Wight was asked about the Captain Insano character. Wight seems to be very eager to bring that character back out and Tony Khan seems to have the connections to make that happen.

“Here’s the thing, Tony Khan is really good friends with Frank, one of the writers and creators of Waterboy. The Captain Insano character, I think Tony’s trying really hard to get the right to that and do something with it. I told Tony, ‘If you get Captain Insano I will rock the ever loving t*ts off it.’ I’ll get the red boots and the whole nine yards — CAPTAIN INSANO SHOWS NO MERCY!”

We very well could see a return of Captain Insano in AEW. The company did register trademark on the name. Paul Wight seems very game to go all out with the character. This could be very interesting, or an epic disaster. Either way, it will likely take the Internet Wrestling Community by storm.
