Bobby Lashley and Drew McIntyre started out the first night of WrestleMania 37 with a WWE Title match. Lashley defeated McIntyre by putting him to sleep in a Hurt Lock, doing just as he promised. In the end, The All Mighty feels that match was good for both competitors.

McIntyre lost to Lashley, but he didn’t tap out. He was able to keep that heat, and he soon become #1 contender once again on the RAW after WrestleMania.

While speaking to Out of Character, Bobby Lashley said that he is very happy with the way his WrestleMania match turned out. It was good for both competitors and now McIntyre can work his way back to the WWE Title. As it turns out, that didn’t take long.

“I’m very happy with the match,” Lashley said. “I did what I said I was going to do. I was gonna put him to sleep. And it showed a little bit of me that people have wanted to see for some time. I took everything he had. Three Future Shocks almost knocked me out. I just kept going and I wanted to show people that. I’m different man; I’m at a different level. I started slow on my way back, but I’m a roll right now and I’m unstoppable.”

“I think it was good for me and I think it was good for Drew also. He has to work his way back up now. I’ve had enough of him. Me and him went after each other for some months now. Now it’s time for him to go to the back of the line now and come back. So we’ll see; we’ll see if he’ll come back stronger.”

WrestleMania Backlash will give those two a chance to have a rematch on May 16th. It will be interesting to see how WWE books that match as they decided to have Lashley as the man who had his hand raised in front of a live crowd at Raymond James Stadium.
