WWE invited live fans back for WrestleMania. They claimed sell-out crowd for both nights of the event. Now the company is going to wait until those fans can come back.

The pandemic is slowing as vaccines are being administered. There are some high hopes that we might return to some form of normalcy by the end of Summer. That might work for WWE, because they are likely not going to have live fans back until August’s big event.

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer stated that SummerSlam is likely a guarantee for a return for live fans.

“SummerSlam, I’m sure will be in front of [live fans], barring something terrible happening, I’d say SummerSlam, for sure.”

WWE has a few pay-per-views until SummerSlam. They very well could decide to hold WrestleMania Backlash in an arena with live fans again, but nothing has been announced. They have the new ThunderDome in the Yuengling Center until the end of July and they need to be moved out in the first week of August. That will provide them with plenty of time to see how things pan out and make plans.
