WWE had to delay WrestleMania for over thirty minutes while they waited out a storm. The delay was due to lightening in the area. This shouldn’t have been a huge issue, but it kind of was.

Ringside News was told that Vince McMahon was prepared to delay WrestleMania. He knew bad weather was possible. McMahon had a game plan, but the issues came with spreading that information backstage.

We were told by a tenured member of the team that Bruce Prichard was supposed to carry out those orders, but he did not communicate things effectively. The creative team was not told.

When the delay happened, Kevin Dunn was ready, because he was told by McMahon. John Laurinaitis had all of the talent ready for the show and “there was a scramble for backstage interviews.”

We were told it was a bit crazy, “but not as bad as one would think.” They pulled through the situation and started off WrestleMania 37 with a totally different vibe.

It would have been much easier if creative knew about the delay, because they could have had Superstars lined up for backstage interviews and ready the set, just in case.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
