MAJOR Cancelled WWE NXT Match Revealed

WWE had a lot of plans this time last year when the pandemic swept the planet and changed everything about their operation. That included nixing a huge match.

While speaking to Sports Illustrated, WALTER revealed that he was set to have a TakeOver match against Finn Balor. The NXT UK Title was set to be on the line as well making us wonder how that would have turned out.

“We have never wrestled before. It’s definitely one of the matches I am very motivated to have. Especially right now, this is the best Finn Bálor I’ve ever seen. The way he carries himself, the way he carries the company, it’s fantastic. His title reign, that’s what a title reign should look like. His title matches, that’s what title matches should look like.”

“We were supposed to wrestle before the pandemic started, but we got interrupted. It’s a match I would like to have. The circumstances, whether he is NXT champion or whether I will be NXT UK champion, I don’t know, but it is a match I would like to have happen.”

Finn Balor surprised NXT UK fans by appearing at TakeOver in the past. He might have been slated to carry the brand’s top title for a bit and have a much longer program with WALTER. We’ll never know what their plan was, but it’s still not too late for Balor vs WALTER to become a reality.
