Tony Khan is the President of AEW, but he doesn’t want to become a character on television. He did pop his head in during the premiere of AEW Dark: Elevation to make a big announcement.

Khan came out to settle down Kenny Omega and book match for him against Matt Sydal. This is a rarity for Khan to make his presence known, and Tony Schiavone made that very clear on Twitter.

I know @TonyKhan very well. He never wants to take up TV time with an appearance, but needed to deliver a message tonight on #Elevation to an out-of-control Kenny Omega. He’s never done that on Dynamite and never intends to, but tonight he was the only one that could do it. @AEW

Tony Khan has been seen on screen during Dynamite, but he hasn’t been featured in a prominent on-screen role. We’ll have to see how long Tony Khan can stay off television. He obviously loves the camera judging by those “paid advertisements” that keep appearing for AEW during Impact Wrestling’s weekly show.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
