WWE sent down word that they are banning leg slapping to sell moves. This all came to a head when Vince McMahon saw it and got angry.

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer explained that McMahon got upset in Gorilla Position during SmackDown. It wasn’t noted when this took place, but it must have been recent enough to warrant this change in edict.

“This is what I was told, but it’s not like I’m gonna get an official [response] anyway. What I was told was at some point on a SmackDown show somebody did a leg slapping deal and Vince got mad because it was so obvious.”

Now there are signs backstage reminding Superstars not to slap their legs.

It wasn’t noted who performed that leg slap, but it was enough for Vince McMahon to notice. He got mad about it, and now nobody is allowed to do them anymore. It will be interesting to see if someone slips up and does it out of force of habit, but they’re not supposed to be slapping their legs. It could result in a fine for that Superstar.
