WWE NXT and AEW Dynamite will no longer go head-to-head on Wednesday nights. This is not official, but the deal is reportedly done and waiting an announcement.

During Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez said that he was told that NXT’s move is a “done deal.” Some fans might not like the idea, but that’s the reality of the situation. In the end, professional hockey ended the Wednesday Night Wars.

“I was told internally, in the network, it’s a done deal. You can say it’s not if you want to, but internally, in the network, it’s a done deal. So, there you go.”

WWE will move NXT to Tuesdays starting on the week after WrestleMania. This was due to NBC Sports Network closing and hockey moving in. USA Network can plausibly get higher than the 1.2 million viewers that NHL games received on their previous home. Ad revenue will be higher as well.

AEW and WWE NXT will also both likely benefit from this change. Now pro wrestling fans won’t have to choose between the two companies. We will have to see if that rivalry continues regardless of what day they’re on.
