The Rock wouldn’t be where he is today without WWE giving him those opportunities that he capitalized on. Vince McMahon was behind the booking of the Most Electrifying Sports Entertainer of all time. Years later, Dwayne Johnson can look back and he considers Mr. McMahon as a father figure.
During a recent Twitter Q&A for Young Rock, The Great One was asked how influential Vince McMahon really was for his career. It didn’t take long for The Rock to explain exactly what McMahon meant to him.
Vince McMahon was one of my greatest business mentors and a father figure. Not always the relationship one would want with their boss but the convergence of our lives made it to be. We laugh when we get together because we always pick right back up where we left off.
The Rock hasn’t wrestled for WWE in quite a long time. That likely wouldn’t be the case if insurance issues weren’t a factor. Dwayne Johnson is a very valuable person and tons of people rely on him to stay employed through his various projects. There is no time for him to get injured.
We’ll have to see if McMahon and The Rock end up working on another in-ring program in the future. You can never say never in WWE, especially when it comes to The Rock coming home.
