WWE has rules in place for their matches, but that doesn’t mean they must follow them. The Elimination Chamber matches are supposed to see competitors enter at 5-minute intervals, but there’s a reason why they didn’t show the full timer on the screen.

The SmackDown Elimination Chamber match saw their intervals go a bit long. Due to King Corbin taking so long to tape out to Cesaro, they actually waited 7:36 to let in Kevin Owens according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

WWE then made the decision to speed up the RAW Elimination Chamber match. Those participants only had to wait four minutes between entries in the match. The last person in the SmackDown match came in at 23:10 into the contest, but the RAW match saw all of the wrestlers enter the match by the 16-minute mark.

The company has their reasons for doing things like this. Obviously, they wanted to speed up the pacing since the event was already booked to be a short show.
