Tony Khan does not appear on screen during AEW Dynamite, but his words are certainly heard. The AEW President has a great seat backstage with a headset on talking to the commentary team.

Vince McMahon is legendary for screaming at announcers, sometimes causing long term mental damage in the process. Khan doesn’t treat his announce team that way, because he just likes to have fun with it.

During Wrestling Observer Radio, TK spoke about his contributions to the AEW announce team. He doesn’t get irate if someone doesn’t say a line he gives to them. He also doesn’t really coach Jim Ross much in the process.

“I’m not going to yell and scream if you don’t get it in. I’ve asked Jim Ross about it a little bit, I mean, to be honest I don’t [feed lines] to Jim as much as the other guys because a lot of times if Jim’s on a tangent, that’s the right time. Like if Jim and Excalibur are talking and they’re starting a point that I can tell is going last like 9 seconds, then I’ll feed a line to Tony Schiavone or Excalibur.”

“It’s stuff like when Miro had all the security guards and he was throwing them around in December, I said to Tony: ‘It’s almost Christmas, JR these men have families!’ I like stuff like that. Last night there was a fun line with Nemeth, ‘I think this is one role the Hollywood Hunk wishes he didn’t book.’ Stuff like that.”

Tony Khan said “I’ve heard some people have PTSD from Vince,” and he is very curious to know what he said to get that reaction. After doing the job for some time now, Tony Khan just tries to have fun with feeding the announce team lines.
