Carlito made his return to WWE during the Men’s Royal Rumble match. It was his first appearance inside a WWE ring in over a decade. He also competed on the next night’s WWE RAW, teaming up with Jeff Hardy.

Carlito worked in WWE from 2004 to 2010, where he was fired by WWE after violating the Wellness Policy.

While speaking on the After the Bell podcast with Corey Graves, Carlito talked about his WWE career. Carlito was asked by Graves why he made a return to the company after so long.

Carlito revealed that he came back as Carlito didn’t like the way things ended last time. Carlito added that he wanted to bury the hatchet with WWE.

“What brought me back… I just didn’t like the way things ended. I didn’t expect it to take 10 years to get back. I just wanted to, at least if I came back one time, I just wanted to leave a better taste, feel like… bury the hatchet or whatever. Just everything is on the up and up, you know, happy to be back, happy to be around, and if that was my last time, I was just glad to finally get a chance to come back and end on better terms.”

Carlito also previously addressed his future in WWE. Carlito said that he was not sure whether a full-time return as a WWE Superstar is possible.
