During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer explained why Angel Garza was needed this week on RAW. It seemed that he was shoved into this storyline without any previous connections, but his presence did serve a purpose.

“Angel Garza was in the Bad Bunny match. [Miz and Morrison] were in the Bad Bunny match. I don’t know if they’re [friends] but they had to have them out for the Bad Bunny match. They didn’t want Damian Priest beating Miz or Morrison week after week, so they had to bring someone else out for Priest to get wins over and that’s where Angel Garza fits in.”

We’ll have to see how things go from this point on. It seems that Angel Garza was written into this situation to take a loss this week. Only time will tell if they continue booking him in this angle as someone who can continue losing on the road to WrestleMania.
