Randy Orton showed up at the end of WWE RAW this week, and he nailed Alexa Bliss with an RKO. That was a big moment, but it didn’t set up a match against Bray Wyatt at the Royal Rumble as the company has been planning for over month.

During Legion of RAW, Vince Russo spoke about the company’s current creative direction with Randy Orton and Alexa Bliss. He stated that they have a big problem with the angle, because The Fiend didn’t show up on RAW. Instead, he still seems to be invisible until The Viper wins the Royal Rumble match.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but the Royal Rumble is on Sunday. I would have to believe it looks like Orton is going to win the Royal Rumble and then the lights gimmick — boom boom boom — here comes The Fiend.”

“Okay bro, now we have a huge problem. If that’s the case, why don’t we see The Fiend tonight and if we’re going to see The Fiend on Sunday, why would he have allowed this to happen to Alexa Bliss tonight?”

“You see what I’m saying bro? You know you are going to see him on Sunday. So, where was he for Alexa Bliss tonight? I believe a lot of this happens because they are writing it at the last minute so they are leaving so many holes, they’re not able to follow everything through because if he’s going to make an appearance at the Royal Rumble we should have seen him tonight making some kind of save on Alexa Bliss.”

In the end, Russo blamed this plot hole on WWE’s last-minute writing. They change plans so often that they could have simply ran out of time.

The Royal Rumble could be full of surprises, and Bray Wyatt’s Fiend might just create a match on the night of the event. The company also has the ability to book any match they like with a simple tweet.

We’ll have to see what happens between now and Sunday, but it appears that RAW’s hottest angle will continue through the Royal Rumble event at this point.
