WWE owns the trademark for “Stone Cold” Steve Austin’s name. They also want to protect that trademark, and they recently had to file a lawsuit against NFL player Adam Jones over the name. Now they are looking to wrap up that situation.

According to Heel By Nature, WWE has requested an extension with the United States Patent and Trademark Office’s Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. This took place on January 20th.

If no settlement is reached in this case by February 15th, then the ongoing legal battle will continue.

WWE started negotiating a settlement regarding the dispute on December 15th, but the proceedings were suspended for 30 days. This gave the two sides 30 days to figure out an agreement.

The situation stemmed from Adam Jones’ use of “Stone Cold” with his “Stone Cold Jones Soda” which he put out through the KC Soda Company.
