Paul Heyman has been the Advocate for CM Punk, Ryback, Brock Lesnar and others, but he has only been Special Counsel to the Tribal Chief.

While recently speaking to BT Sport, Paul Heyman was asked what makes his relationship with Roman Reigns different from any of the rest. Heyman said that both he and Roman Reigns could have walked away, but they decided to combine forces and achieve greatness.

Paul Heyman went on to say both of their Hall of Fame careers are already in the books and right now, Roman Reigns is doing the best work of his career.

“I think we were both very satisfied with our body of work and we both could’ve walked away. We both could have said “Ok, made a lot of money, caused a lot of commotion, been on top for many years.” What a body of work, Hall of Fame careers, both of us. Neither one of us was satisfied.

“Neither one of us… our appetites were insatiated. We knew that as 2020 became a seismic shift in the entire, not just the entire WWE Universe, the actual universe itself, that there was an opportunity to craft a new narrative. A new trajectory. A new level of greatness that’d never been achieved. Um… a different approach to the presentation. And we both wanted to take the shot at it. And we both wanted to see just how much we could transform this industry, set the trend, and um blaze a path that no one had had the balls to blaze before. We were on the same page.”

“So that’s why this is different than anybody else I’ve ever worked with. Our reputations are cemented. Our Hall of Fame careers are in the books. Yet, we are both probably doing… I know Roman Reigns is doing the best work of his entire career and it’s only just begun.”

Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman both have significant creative input in his stories. That is why everything Roman is involved with now seems different. Ringside News exclusively covered how Reigns developed this backstage influence and why it is well-deserved.

We’ll have to see what’s next for Reigns. He will face Kevin Owens at the Royal Rumble in a last man standing match. Owens has been able to pull a few tricks on Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman already. Perhaps he will be able to pull down the Universal Title on January 31st.
