Sting and Darby Allin are set to face off against Brian Cage and Ricky Starks at AEW Revolution. That street fight will likely be in a cinematic setting as Sting agreed to those matches when discussing his AEW contract with Tony Khan.

Some people really enjoy Sting’s work in AEW so far, but there are some detractors. Jim Cornette is not afraid to speak his mind on the subject.

During the Jim Cornette Experience, he took a shot at Sting’s greying hair. Cornette suggested that Sting should pull a Wahoo McDaniel and use a spray-on hair dye to fix the issue.

“Sting oughta stop painting his face and start dying his hair. I thought at first that it was the lights or the snow that was on it, but his hair is normally brown, but it’s not young guy brown now, it’s older guy brown now and it has a tendency of looking grey with the lights on it. It’s thinned a little bit. Why doesn’t he go with the Wahoo McDaniel spray-on black type of thing?”

Cornette then discussed how Sting and Darby Allin look in the ring with their new alliance in AEW. Although Cornette did admit that there is “a glimmer of sense here,” he wasn’t too positive about the booking. Jim Cornette then compared Allin to a clown school dropout while calling the entire union into question.

“I understand that there is a glimmer of sense here, but it just gets covered up by inexperience. I understand that giving Darby Allin a rub by having him together with Sting or Sting passing the torch, or giving his blessing or whatever. I understand that in theory, but in visual practice, Sting and Darby Allin together in the ring looks like a legendary Ringling Brothers clown with his delinquent grandson that dropped out of clown college.”

“There’s a generation between them. There’s a f*cking foot in height and seventy-five pounds in weight. I don’t fu*cking know. Anyway, they’re together.”

We’ll have to see what AEW does with Sting and Darby Allin. Their story had a slow burn up to this point, but now their first match as a team is set.

AEW Revolution will be very big night for AEW as Sting competes for the company for the first time. Jim Cornette will likely be watching and paying close attention to the situation.
