Sami Callihan decided to stay with Impact Wrestling and ignore any other opportunities for him outside of the company. This was a surprising decision for some fans who expected him to possible try his hand elsewhere.

While speaking to the Battleground podcast, Callihan explained his decision to stick with Impact Wrestling. He has unfinished business waving the Impact Wrestling flag higher and harder than anyone else. He loves Impact Wrestling and he wants to see the company reach new heights as well.

“I love Impact Wrestling, I have to give it my all. I don’t think it’s any secret that I — I wave this Impact flag harder than anybody else. And that’s where — Eddie Edwards and I have a lot of differences. That’s one thing we have in common I have to respect him for. Eddie Edwards as well is the heart and soul of Impact Wrestling. We’re two guys that wave this flag harder than anybody else, and we’re loyal to this company because this company means everything to us.”

“I love Impact Wrestling, I loved Impact Wrestling when I was younger. And it was a big thing for me to help change this company and make it better again. And I feel I’ve done that over the last three years, and that’s why I signed a multiple year deal. Because I love Impact Wrestling, I want to be the face of Impact Wrestling, and I want to see Impact Wrestling continue to grow into being one of the biggest wrestling companies on the planet.”

Sami Callihan signed a new multi-year contract with Impact Wrestling this time around. He will continue bringing his special brand of violence to Impact Wrestling for some time to come.

Thanks to Impact Wrestling and AEW’s new partnership you also never know if Callihan might find himself wrestling on Dynamite eventually. The future seems to be an open book at this point brimming with possibilities.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
