Hikaru Shida was not in Japan when the pandemic struck. This was fortunate for AEW because she was able to capture their Women’s Title and help lead their women’s division through a very difficult time. 2020 included many heartbreaking stories, the most recent is the passing of Brodie Lee.

Shida posted an uplifting message in the early morning hours following the news of Brodie Lee’s passing. She said that throughout all of the bad times that 2020 has put us through that she still doesn’t want to let the negativity win.

Even many people said “2020 sucks”, I kept seeing good side and never went to down on knee.

And this sad news…It’s really hard to stand. But still…I don’t wanna lose to this hard time.

People are looking for 2021 to fix a lot of things. Simply taking down our 2020 calendars won’t solve all of those problems. Hikaru Shida seems to have a very refreshing and positive mindset about the entire situation. Hopefully, more can adopt her way of thinking.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
