WWE hasn’t held a pay-per-view in the United Kingdom in a long time. The time difference is a big reason, but the recent Saudi Arabian pay-per-view events have proven that it’s not impossible. Drew McIntyre plans to make a pay-per-view event happen in the UK, even if he must harass Vince McMahon to make it happen.

The Scotsman recently ran an interview with Drew McIntyre where he gave a lot of hope for a UK pay-per-view taking place. He said that it will occur because he’s going to harass Vince McMahon about it until he agrees to hold the event.

“The UK has some of the most passionate loyal fans. The Superstars look forward to it because they don’t understand why the crowds are so rowdy – we have football crowds who chant, go mental, get drunk, it’s home for me but for the rest of the Superstars they think it’s cool to get over – my goal is to make it happen in future and it’s going to happen because I’m gonna harass Vince McMahon until it does. I talk a lot of crap online with Tyson Fury and Chris Sutton in particular – but whatever it takes to get the UK a significant PPV I’ll do. I have plans that I won’t mention publicly but the big one I will, and the one that WILL happen, is getting a WWE PPV back to the UK.”

The novel coronavirus pandemic is holding up WWE’s plans to run a pay-per-view outside of the United States. They can’t even travel outside of Florida right now, and their new home at Tropicana Field will keep them in the Sunshine State for even longer.
