Road Dogg has left Twitter after his opinion about wearing a mask was met with controversy.

The WWE Hall Of Famer replied to a fan who said that “the left” is pushing fear because you can catch COVID-19 with or without a mask on. The DX member said: “That’s common sense Jay and it’s rare these days. But they think we’re crazy too. Social media isn’t helping that’s for sure”

Shane Helms replied saying: “People get killed wearing seatbelts too. But wearing one still increases your odds of not dying. See how that works? That’s common sense.” Road Dogg replied that they will “agree to disagree”

Helms answered to Road Dogg saying: “Yeah, I’ll agree that you don’t understand how odds or statistics work and I’ll disagree that you have a clue about what common sense is.” Then Road Dogg said that Shane Helms is not tolerant for someone so “woke.” That brought another reply from The Hurricane.

Never claimed to be woke, never had to. And tolerance of ignorance doesn’t help anyone. People’s lives are at stake, maybe you should try to “wake up” if that makes you feel edgier.

Road Dogg took a while and then he sent out a tweet saying that he is leaving Twitter: “This is a message to all the people that have helped me along the way and maybe a few I’ve helped; I’m signing off of Twitter it has been really great interacting with you all.”

There was a report that some in NXT were getting frustrated with “COVID truthers” in the brand. Road Dogg’s opinions about wearing a mask certainly doesn’t seem to fit the suggested guidelines on how to slow the spread of the novel coronavirus.
