Jim Ross has departed from WWE a few times. His October 2005 firing was the subject during a recent episode of Grilling JR, and he had something to say about Triple H’s lack of assistance.

That night on RAW, Jim Ross was fired on screen, and then he was fired in real life. Ross spoke about how he was disappointed that Triple H didn’t stand up for him, especially after Ross fought to get Triple H a million-dollar downside guarantee.

“When he became an administrator, we didn’t have a lot of successful negotiations,” Ross said. “I was disappointed in that a bit because I always went to bat for him. I got him the contract he wanted and that was important to him – to have the same million dollar downside guarantee that the other guys did. I think he just took Vince’s lead.”

Jim Ross is in a much happier place in his career with AEW. Triple H’s power in WWE only grew since then as well. You can never saw never in pro wrestling, but it’s doubtful that Triple H will be in a position of authority over Jim Ross again.
