Finn Balor’s jaw was broken in two places during his match against Kyle O’Reilly at NXT TakeOver: 31. There are a lot of storylines going on in WWE, but Balor’s situation as NXT Champion is very real.
It was said during NXT this week that they will wait and see how Balor recuperates. Balor kept fans up to date as he revealed photo of his very swollen face days following surgery.
During Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez noted that this situation could result in another NXT Champion being forced to give up his title. Of course, that isn’t preferred, but it might have to happen.
“It is touch and go, this is a shoot. If he seems to be recovering rapidly he will remain champion, if not they will be forced to strip him of the title.”
Karrion Kross had to relinquish the NXT Title when he separated his shoulder while winning it from Keith Lee. Finn Balor is healing up as fast as he can, but WWE is apparently keeping their options open.
