WWE knows the value that “Austin 3:16” carries. The company made an absolute killing from selling those black t-shirts back in the day. They also know there is a lot more money to make.

New filings indicate that WWE registered a new copyright for Austin 3:16 on October 1st. This will ensure that nobody can use that iconic intellectual property other than Vince McMahon’s company.

This new copyright gives WWE the ability to continue using Austin 3:16 for the following reasons:

International Class 041:  Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer rendered live and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; providing information in the fields of sports and entertainment via an online community portal; providing a website in the field of sports entertainment information; providing online newsletters in the fields of sports entertainment; online journals, namely blogs, in the field of sports entertainment

The company also filed a trademark for the term in 2018. If you’re excited to see WWE use Austin 3:16 in even more ways gimme a “Hell Yeah!”
